A starclimber is a specialised piece of equipment that allows us to move bulky or heavy items up and down stairs with ease. At Slipstream Carriers we are so passionate about making every move a success we have not one, but three different kinds of stairclimbers.

These handy machines all have individual capabilities which allow us to tackle different projects successfully. They reduce the potential for damage to your items and prevent the possibility of moving injuries for our team.

Industrially Strong yet Tactically Delicate

Before moving the weight down a flight of stairs, Slipstream Carriers ensures that your asset is carefully protected in transport blankets to prevent scratches. We then use one of our three different specialised stair climbers to move the load depending on the circumstance and pathway.

Each piece of equipment is specially designed to provide incredible dexterity and flexibility in narrow hallway spaces and awkward corners. They balance out the load during the move while preventing damage from slides, judders and jolts when your item is moving up and down the stairs.

• Pianoplan Standard Stair Climber

The Pianoplan Standard is our go to machine for moving grand pianos, upright pianos and many other large, heavy and awkward items. This machine can carry up to 600kg with ease meaning nothing is too large for Slipstream Carriers. The hydraulically actioned, sliding top plate keeps the load level and balanced at all times and enables us to shift the item forward or backwards in order to manoeuvre around tight landings and corners.

Thanks to its small size and its elevation system of rollers, Pianoplan can rotate in very small spaces. An electromagnetic brake continuously assists the operator which means heavy loads can be moved with 1 or 2 people instead of 4 or 5. The commands are placed on the control console, and the operation of the tracks is controlled by an electronic potentiometer joystick which allow delicate and precise movements.

• Pianoplan Vertical Stair Climber

This machine is very similar to the Standard Pianoplan but is equipped with two hydraulic arms and a tilting platform. The tilting platform attaches to the item that is being moved and lifts it back onto the machine so that no manual handling is involved. For example, when carrying a bulky refrigerator, vending machine or safe, the Pianoplan Vertical allows the item to be lifted and rotated into position onto the stair climber machine. Thanks to the stabilisers, all the work is carried out in complete safety. After climbing the steps or stairs, the item is mechanically returned to the original upright position.

• Zonzini Skipper

The Zonzini Skipper is the smallest and lightest of our stairclimbers and has the capability of moving up to 400kgs. It is equipped with independent crawler tracks that can turn in very tight spaces. The machine is controlled with a joystick which allows us to change the track direction at any time. This machine is ideal for taking safe boxes and cylinders up and down stairs.
